Have you ever adventured with a collection of hackers to one of the most amazing Mayan sites on the planet? No? That’s what we guessed.
Hackspedition Tabasco is your opportunity to do this and more. Specifically, it's an organized trip across the world to foster creativity, friendship, and our common bond: adventure and hacking!
And the best part? All you have to do is get there. The most expensive part of traveling is accomodations, and we've got you covered. Once you arrive you will be meeting and staying with local hackers and camping in bungalows.
Program
Wednesday, November 2
Welcome dinner: Dinner with all the attendees and local hackers and entrepreneurs that are hosting us.
Thursday, November 3
El Futuro: El Futuro Conference is taking place during Thursday and Friday. El Futuro is one of the major web and digital media conferences in Mexico. We are attending the first day to enjoy some talks, but more importantly to hack with and get to know some of the local players and interact with the community.
Friday, November 4
Expedition to Palenque: One of the most beautiful mayan sites on planet Earth, Palenque is just three hours away from Villahermosa, our basecamp. We are visiting for the day and we're spending the night in bungalows in the middle of the jungle.
Saturday, November 5
SuperHappyDevHouse: Saturday is hack day. SuperHappyDevHouse is a party for hackers and thinkers, or put differently, a hackathon just for fun. It is a great opportunity to work on personal projects and learn from collaborating with others.
Sunday, November 6
Expedition to Kolemchen: One of the most beautiful natural reserves in the state, Kolemchen is also a couple of hours away from Villahermosa.
Getting there
Fly to Mexico City and take the bus!
This is the cheapest way to get to Villahermosa. We have a sponsored bus (that means free for you!) that departs from Mexico City. Also, you can always fly in a few days early or stay a few days after the Hackspedition and explore the beautiful city. We'll have places for you to crash in Mexico City as well.
If you chose this option, please ensure that you book your flight around the bus arrival and departure dates:
Bus departing: 11/1 at 8PM CST
Bus returning: 11/7 at 8AM CST
Or fly directly to Villahermosa
Continental Airlines operates a daily evening flight from Houston, TX directly to Villahermosa, Tabasco.
